Mission Statement

The Mississippi State Atlanta Alumni, Inc. (MSAA) Scholarship Committee recommends incoming freshmen from
the state of Georgia for scholarships. The scholarships are distributed from the Mississippi State University
Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) gift agreement between the MSAA and the Foundation known as the
“ATLANTA, GEORGIA ALUMNI CHAPTER ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP”.
The gift agreement is located in the permanent files of the Foundation, MSAA President and the University’s Office of
Admission and Scholarships.

Scholarship Criteria

• Admitted to MSU
• Full Time Entering Freshmen
• Minimum 3.5 GPA
• Be a resident of one of the counties that make up the Atlanta, Georgia Alumni Chapter’s geographic region
  which includes the following counties:
  Barrow, Bartow, Butts, Carroll, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, Dawson, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton,
  Gwinnett, Hall, Haralson,Henry, Newton, Paulding, Polk, Rockdale, Spaulding, and Walton.

Award Amount

An award of $1,000 or $1,500 will be given to the top-ranked candidate at the conclusion of the selection process, with additional scholarships being awarded to other receipient(s) (as funds are available).
The Chapter has a yearly fund raiser "BULLDOG BENEFIT" to help fund this chapter endowed scholarship.

Students can apply through their mystate account through Mississippi State University.

Donations

Individuals interested in supporting the MSU Atlanta Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship Fund can make a
TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation to the MSU Foundation and specifically designate it for the
Atlanta, Georgia Alumni Chapter Endowed Scholarship.
