MISSION STATEMENT
The Atlanta, Georgia Chapter of the Mississippi State University (MSU) Alumni Association is pleased to financially support select incoming freshmen from the state of Georgia in the early stages of their undergraduate education at Mississippi State University.
SELECTION CRITERIA
All graduating high school seniors in the state of Georgia are eligible applicants. Award recipients are selected following a two-round process. During the first round, applicants are assessed and ranked based on the following criteria:
- Grades
- SAT/ACT Scores
- Extra-curricular activities and awards
- Essay
Based on the first-round rankings, a select number of candidates then advance to the second round, during which they are given telephone interviews. Award recipients are then selected based on all five criteria, including the telephone interview. (If an equal ranking occurs, the committee reserves the right to give extra consideration to students of MSU Alumni. The committee also reserves the right to consider other scholarship offers in their decision.)
AWARD AMOUNTS
An award of $1,000 will be given to the top-ranked candidate at the conclusion of the selection process, with $500 being awarded to the second-ranked candidate.*
(*These amounts are subject to increase or an additional scholarship added based on the amount of available funds.)

APPLICATION DEADLINE
The scholarship application deadline is March 15.
HOW TO DONATE
Individuals interested in supporting the MSU Atlanta Alumni Association scholarship fund can make a tax deductible donation to the MSU Foundation and specifically designate it for the “Atlanta, Georgia Chapter Annual Scholarship.” Please consider adding an additional donation to this fund as we grow our GA recruiting.
